Grodno manufacturers sign $60m worth of contracts in run-up to Belarus-Russia Forum of Regions

GRODNO, 28 June (BelTA) – In the run-up to the fourth Forum of Regions of Russia and Belarus, Grodno manufacturers signed contracts with Russian partners to supply goods worth approximately $60 million, BelTA learned from Andrei Sviridov, the chairman of the economy committee of the Grodno Oblast Executive Committee.

Grodno Oblast will be represented at the forum by the producers well-known in Russia. Among them are Grodno Meat-Packing Plant, Molochny Mir dairy, and Bellakt baby food producer. Yanka Kupala Grodno State University and Grodno Azot will present their most recent products and solutions.

“When preparing for the forum, the Grodno enterprises signed $60 million worth of supply contracts with Russian partners,” Andrei Sviridov noted. Grodno Meat-Packing Plant is set to conclude a big contract for the supply of sausages with a Russian company during the forum in Moscow.

The delegation of Grodno Oblast will be headed by Chairman of the Grodno Oblast Executive Committee Vladimir Kravtsov. Plans have been made to hold negotiations with representatives of the regions of the Russian Federation.

The upcoming Forum of Regions will be themed around Belarus-Russia interregional partnership in high technology, innovations, and information society. The forum has been organized by the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation and the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of Belarus. The expo co-located with the forum has been arranged by Russia's Ministry of Industry and Trade and the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
