Belarus to take part in World Summit Awards contest

MINSK, 1 October (BelTA) – The Electronic Trading Platform of Industrial and Consumer Goods of the Belarusian Universal Commodity Exchange (BUCE) has been nominated for UN World Summit Awards 2018 as the most advanced and innovative project in the Business and Commerce category in Belarus, BelTA learned from the BUCE press service.

438 digital innovations have been nominated from more than 100 countries.

The Electronic Trading Platform of Industrial and Consumer Goods represents a electronic B2B platform that unites thousands of sellers and buyers from Belarus, the CIS countries and the European Union.

Over the next few weeks the WSA online jury will consider all applications and shortlist 15-20 projects in each category which will be presented at the meeting of the main jury in Accra, the capital of Ghana, on 4-7 November. The jury will then select 40 best projects that will be presented at the WSA Global Congress where winners will be announced. Previous global congress was held in Vienna, Austria bringing together over 700 participants from all over the world.

World Summit Awards is the international contest of the UN World Summit aimed at supporting digital innovations with a high potential impact on society. WSA has been held since 2003 in accordance with the UN framework program “Information Society” (UN WSIS).
