Belarus, Slovakia looking for new areas of cooperation in industry, science, energy

MINSK, 19 October (BelTA) – Bratislava is playing host to the 13th meeting of the Belarusian-Slovak joint commission on cooperation in trade, economy and science on 19-20 October, spokesperson for the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Dmitry Mironchik told a press briefing, BelTA has learned.

“The countries intend to identify the promising areas for further cooperation in industry, science and technology and energy,” Dmitry Mironchik said.

During the session of the commission the parties will organize, for the first time, a meeting of experts to discuss cooperation in pharmacy, standardization and certification, and investment collaboration. Talks are scheduled between the chambers of commerce of the two countries.

The Belarusian delegation is headed by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Evgeny Shestakov. It is composed of representatives of the Finance Ministry, the State Committee for Standardization, Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, higher education institutions, enterprises and companies.
