Belarus set to open MAZ assembly plant in Chisinau by 2017 year-end

MINSK, 6 June (BelTA) – Belarus plans to open a plant to assemble MAZ buses in Chisinau by the end of the year, Belarus Prime Minister Andrei Kobyakov told the media after the meeting with Moldova Prime Minister Pavel Filip on 6 June, BelTA has learned.

“The project to set up a plant to assemble MAZ buses in Chisinau is getting fleshed out. Major preparatory works have been completed. We hope that the project will be commissioned in 2017,” Andrei Kobyakov said.

Belarus and Moldova are keen to cooperate in the construction industry and agriculture. “In agriculture, the prospects for our cooperation are wide-ranging, from research and supplies to the construction of advanced cattle farms and training of personnel,” the Belarusian head of government stressed.

The relations in the humanitarian field are an important aspect of the bilateral cooperation. Later today Andrei Kobyakov and Pavel Filip will attend the opening of the Days of Culture of the Republic of Moldova in Belarus.
