Belarus, Russia to work out single database on movement, quality of agricultural produce

MINSK, 20 June (BelTA) – Belarus and Russia will work out a single database on the movement and quality of agricultural produce, State Secretary of the Union State Grigory Rapota told reporters after the meeting with Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko on 20 June, BelTA informs.

“As for the export of agricultural produce from the Republic of Belarus to the Russian Federation, there is one problem – the absence of a balanced judicial system of interaction in certain areas. For example (this issue was discussed at the Council of Ministers meeting and will be addressed in the resolutions of the Supreme State Council), it is essential to work out a single information system concerning the movement and quality of products,” Grigory Rapota said.

The state secretary did not reveal the details of the project because, in his words, this is a very specific topic. “The talks on the need to work out a single information system have been in progress for a long time, but the issue remains unresolved. It will eradicate many contradictions,” he is convinced.

Apart from that, Belarus and Russia will pay more attention to the fight against counterfeited products. Swindlers often make low-quality products under popular brands of companies with impeccable reputation. “The problem of counterfeited products is extremely acute, and it is in the center of attention in the Union State. Now this pertains to agricultural products. I think that we will develop this issue in relation to other products in the future,” the state secretary noted.

Grigory Rapota said that in any developing organism, especially in an international integration association, new issues always emerge in the process of resolution of old ones. Of course, it is essential to solve them. “We will always do our best to cope with these issues. Such efforts will ensure a positive dynamics,” the state secretary stressed.
