Belarus plans to co-launch energy projects in Sudan

MINSK, 6 March (BelTA) – Belarus intends to join some energy projects in Sudan, BelTA learned from the national electric company Belenergo.

In particular, Belenergo-affiliated enterprises can take part in a project to construct a 350 MW thermal power station.

The Belarusian company is also considering carrying out investment projects together with the Czechia-based Metrostav in third countries in 2018-2023.

Belenergo is mulling over such options for cooperation with Siemens as joint projects in third countries, production of Siemens components in Belarus, and maintenance services. In late 2017-early 2018, Belenergo organizations completed the installation works at a 4800 MW power plant in Beni Suef, Egypt.

Apart from diversifying the export of services, one of Belenergo's main tasks for 2018 is to collect as many electricity bill payments as possible, reduce the number of breakdowns of all kinds of equipment, keep to the repair schedule for all kinds of equipment and networks, launch an investment program, and take measures to integrate the BelNPP with the Belarusian power grid.
