Belarus' economic potential presented at investment forum in Seoul

MINSK, 16 May (BelTA) – A Belarusian investment and economic forum took place in Seoul, South Korea on 15 May. The forum was timed to the 25th anniversary of Belarus-Korea diplomatic relations, the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs told BelTA.

The potential of the Belarusian economy, advantages of cooperation with Belarus, and a number of promising investment projects were presented during the forum. Agreements were signed to further advance the bilateral trade and economic cooperation, said the source.

On the sidelines of the forum members of the Belarusian delegation met with representatives of the Korean Trade, Industry, and Energy Ministry and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, representatives of leading Korean corporations and business associations. Prospects of advancing cooperation in spheres of mutual interest were discussed.

The event was organized by the Embassy of Belarus in Korea and the Korean Chamber of Commerce and Industry with assistance of the National Agency of Investment and Privatization of Belarus, the Korean Importers Association, the law firm DR & AJU, the Contractors Association of Korea, and other parties. The Belarusian delegation included representatives of the Council of Ministers, the Finance Ministry, the Industry Ministry, the Economy Ministry, the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, the Hi-Tech Park administration, and a number of major Belarusian companies. The Korean side at the forum was represented by government agencies and organizations, companies specializing in information technologies, electronics, civil engineering, pharmaceutics, and automobiles.
