MINSK, 15 January (BelTA) – Belarus’ world number 102 Aliaksandra Sasnovich has advanced to the main draw of the 2026 Australian Open, BelTA has learned.
In a third qualifying round, the Belarusian player defeated Ukraine’s world number 136 Daria Snigur, 6-2, 0-6, 6-2. The match lasted one hour and 45 minutes. At the start of the qualification, Aliaksandra Sasnovich defeated France’s world number 577 Ksenia Efremova, 6-3, 6-1, and then beat Liechtenstein’s Kathinka von Deichmann (World No. 258), 6-3, 7-6 (7-4).
The main event of the 2026 Australian Open runs from 18 January to 1 February. The prize pool for the season’s opening Grand Slam tournament is around $7.7 million.
