MINSK, 9 September (BelTA) – Belarus' world number 106 Aliaksandra Sasnovich went off to a good start at the 2020 Istanbul Open, BelTA has learned.
In the opener the Belarusian saw off Kazakhstan's Zarina Diyas, ranked 69th in the world, 3-6, 7-5, 6-1. Aliaksandra Sasnovich will next face Slovakia's world number 182 Anna Schmiedlova.
Belarus' Lidziya Marozava and Romania's Cristina-Andreea Mitu will take on the U.S.-Chile tandem of Desirae Krawczyk and Alexa Guarachi for a spot in the quarterfinal.
The tournament in Istanbul will be over on 13 September.
