Belarus win five medals at Vardanyan U20 Freestyle Wrestling Tournament in Yerevan

MINSK, 19 March (BelTA) – Belarusian athletes have claimed five medals at the 2026 Lyova Vardanyan International U20 Freestyle Wrestling Tournament in the Armenian capital of Yerevan, BelTA has learned.

The Belarusian team’s tally includes five bronze medals. Finishing third in their weight categories were Aliaksandr Kambayeu (74kg), Alan Tsagarayev (86kg), Aliaksei Kulakou (92kg), Aliaksei Khadunou and Azamat Tsarikayev (both 97kg).

A total of around 140 athletes from seven countries took part in the Vardanyan tournament in Yerevan: Belarus, Armenia, Kyrgyzstan, Italy, Moldova, Russia and France. The Russian juniors topped the medal standings at the international tournament with eight golds, seven silvers and three bronzes.
