Belarus to compete in European Olympic Boxing Qualifiers

MINSK, 4 June (BelTA) – Belarusian athletes will compete at the European Olympic Boxing Qualifiers which are to kick of in Paris, France on 4 June, BelTA has learned.

Aliaksandr Radionau (69kg), Vitali Bandarenka (75kg) and Mikhail Dauhaliavets (81kg) will hold fights on 4 June.

Dzmitry Asanau (63kg) and Uladzislau Smiahlikau (91kg) are set to be in action on 5 June. All Belarusian athletes will kick off their campaigns from the round of Last 16.

Six Olympic quotas will be earned in the 63kg, 69kg, and 75kg weight categories. Boxers in the 81-91kg categories will compete for four Olympic berths.

In the women's event Belarus will be represented by Yulia Apanasovich (51kg), Halina Bruyevich (57kg), and Viktoryya Kebikava (75kg).

Six Olympic slots are for grabs in the women's 51kg and 57kg weight categories. Female boxers will compete for four Olympic berths in the 75kg category.

The tournament, which is due in the French capital on 4-8 June, is a continuation of the European qualifying start Road to Tokyo, which was held in London in March 2020 and was suspended due to a coronavirus outbreak.

The competition will be resumed taking into account the draw and the results of the bouts that have already been held in the British capital.
