MINSK, 19 December (BelTA) – Belarusian biathletes finished off the podium in the sprint at the third leg of the Commonwealth Cup in Chaykovsky, Russia’s Perm Territory, BelTA has learned.
The men’s 10 km sprint kicked off the competition schedule. A total of 90 biathletes took part in the race, including 14 Belarusians. The top performer among the Belarusian men was Anton Smolski: the national team leader missed one shot and posted the sixth-fastest time at the finish. Thanks to this result, Smolski has taken the lead in the overall Commonwealth Cup standings. The podium was claimed by Russians Eduard Latypov, Evgeny Sidorov, and Daniil Serokhvostov.
Belarusian Stsiapan Danilau completed the top ten with a flawless shooting performance. Maksim Varabei placed 26th, Gleb Orlovsky finished 28th, and Aleksandr Golyak became 31st, with Mikita Labastau right behind him. Ivan Tulatsin finished 56th, Andrei Gavrosh – 61st, Aleksei Logvinov – 62nd, Ilya Auseyenka – 68th, Pavel Belko – 72nd, Denis Yeremov – 75th, Konstantin Baburov – 78th, Vitaly Kazachenok – 79th. Dzmitry Lazouski did not compete.
