Belarus’ NOC president congratulates Bardzilouskaya on Olympic silver

MINSK, 2 August (BelTA) - President of the National Olympic Committee (NOC) of Belarus Viktor Lukashenko has congratulated Viyaleta Bardzilouskaya on winning a silver medal at the 2024 Summer Olympic Games in Paris, BelTA learned from the press service of the NOC of Belarus.

The 19-year-old Belarusian clinched silver in trampoline. In the final Viyaleta Bardzilouskaya scored 56.060 to place second, behind Bryony Page of the UK. For the Belarusian, the Olympic medal is the first one for the Belarusian in her adult sporting career in the international arena.

“This is your first Olympic medal and the first medal for Belarus in Paris, so it is twice as valuable and special. Thanks to your persistence, aspiration and diligence, you were able to surpass many famous rivals and, above all, yourself in a difficult psychological struggle. Your beautiful debut at the Games is impressive and admirable. You have given unforgettable emotions and joy to millions of Belarusian fans and our athletes,” the message of greetings reads. Viktor Lukashenko also expressed gratitude to the coaching staff of the national trampoline team.

Ivan Litvinovich will try to defend the Olympic champion title in the men’s trampoline event on Friday evening.
