MINSK, 16 March (BelTA) – Belarusian athletes won ten medals at the Gymnastik International 2026, an international tournament in Fellbach-Schmiden, Germany, BelTA has learned.
The tournament’s final day saw the medalists crowned in individual apparatus finals. Belarusian senior Darya Viarenich competed in three finals – with ball, clubs and ribbon – and claimed silver in all three. In each final, the Belarusian was outperformed by German gymnasts: Lada Pusch (ball), Darja Varfolomeev (clubs) and Viktoria Steinfeld (ribbon). Another Belarusian Darya Tkatcheva finished seventh in the ball final. Viarenich had previously claimed the all-around title, with Tkatcheva coming in fourth in that prestigious competition.
Among the juniors, Belarusian Margarita Zhurovich won two gold medals in individual events (ball and ribbon), her compatriot Kseniya Bandarenka showed the best result in the hoop exercise and won bronze with clubs. Belarusian athletes also won the team tournament. Another gold medal for Belarus came from the group exercise team, which finished first in the routine with five balls. In total, Belarusian gymnasts won 10 medals in Fellbach-Schmiden (6 golds, 3 silvers, 1 bronze).
