MINSK, 28 February (BelTA) – Belarus' Victoria Azarenka (WTA No.50) has made it to the quarterfinal of the 2019 WTA Mexican Open, BelTA has learned.
At the women's singles second round match in Acapulco Victoria Azarenka cruised past Tatjana Maria (WTA No.69) of Germany 6:2, 6:1. She had previously defeated U.S. Danielle Collins (WTA No.25) 6:1, 6:2. In her first quarterfinal showing of the 2019 season, Azarenka will meet 5th-seeded American Sofia Kenin (WTA No.35).
Earlier, Victoria Azarenka and Zheng Saisai of China proceeded to the quarterfinal of the women's doubles and will take on Johanna Konta/Laura Siegemund.
