Anastasiya Shkurdai qualifies for 50m backstroke semifinal in Budapest

MINSK, 18 May (BelTA) - Anastasiya Shkurdai of Belarus has qualified for the women's 50m backstroke semifinal at the 2021 European Aquatics Championships in Budapest, BelTA has learned.

The Belarusian clocked 28.33 seconds to finish 14th at the preliminary stage of the competitions. Belarus' Anastasiya Kuleshova touched in 26th with the time of 28.79 seconds. Kathleen Dawson of the UK showed the best time of 27.29 seconds.

In the men's 100m freestyle Yauhen Tsurkin placed 56th with the time of 50.08 seconds, Artsiom Machekin finished 58th (50.09), and Grigori Pekarski touched in 67th (50.38). Kliment Kolesnikov of Russia showed the best time of 47.53 seconds.
