MINSK, 16 February (BelTA) – Representatives of Vitebsk Oblast signed a number of agreements on cooperation with Russian regions in Moscow on February 16. The ceremony took place in the Belarusian pavilion at Moscow’s VDNKh as part of the Days of the Vitebsk Oblast, BelTA has learned.
Governor of Vitebsk Oblast Aleksandr Subbotin and Vice Governor of Volgograd Oblast Anna Pisemskaya signed a roadmap to the agreement between the administrations of Volgograd Oblast and Vitebsk Oblast on cooperation in trade, economy, science, technology, culture and humanitarian matters for 2024-2026.
Chairman of the Dokshitsy District Executive Committee Oleg Kovalenok and head of Pechory municipal district of Pskov Oblast Valery Zaitsev signed an agreement on cross-border cooperation. The Vitebsk Oblast Executive Committee and Batyrevo municipal district of the Chuvash Republic signed an agreement to establish partnership. Vitebsk Oblast also concluded an agreement with Ivanovo municipal district of Ivanovo Oblast on cooperation in trade, economy, science, technology, culture and humanitarian affairs. Miory District has established close ties with Izmalkovo municipal district of Lipetsk Oblast.
Head of the Culture Department of the Vitebsk Oblast Executive Committee Oleg Ageyev and Culture and Tourism Minister of Penza Oblast Sergei Bychkov signed a letter of intent of cooperation in culture. Vitebsk enterprises also inked a number of agreements on cooperation with Russia.
"As for the signed, they do not just represent the intentions of cooperation. They are already projects in education, science, culture and industry,” Governor of Vitebsk Oblast Aleksandr Subbotin said after the signing ceremony.
"Pskov suggests projects in machine-tool construction, other regions offer joint industrial research and training programs, joint trade and export. The prospects for cooperation are diverse and limitless. It is hard to mention all of them," he added.
