MINSK, 9 September (BelTA) – Member of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Ilya Kiva has called on Belarusians not to repeat other people's mistakes and warned about possible consequences of these mistakes. The Ukrainian MP shared his views with the Belarus 1 TV channel, BelTA has learned.
“The coup d'etat was presented like one of the achievements of democracy and fight for human rights, democratic processes. It was a real honeypot and people believed in it. We really wanted to make our country a better place for our children, but what have we ended up with? We sold the land that feeds us,” Ilya Kiva said.
He warned Belarusians: “If you work at BelAZ and can pay your bills, tomorrow this company will go into private hands and after that it will become bankrupt. This way they eliminate competitors from the market. This all happened to us. They destroyed Antonov State Enterprise, we no longer have aircraft industry, shipbuilding industry. Today our country is torn apart by hatred and anger towards each other. Bombs have been exploding on our land for the sixth year. We have lost part of our territory. All this chaos is happening for just one simple reason – someone came for our country and took away our future,” the MP said.
