Snap inspection continues in 11th Independent Guards Mechanized Brigade in Slonim

SLONIM DISTRICT, 11 February (BelTA) – The snap inspection of the Belarusian army continued in the 11th Independent Guards Mechanized Brigade in Slonim on 11 February, BelTA has learned.

Today in accordance with the instruction from the head of state and in accordance with the inspection schedule the combat readiness of the brigade units located at their permanent station is being checked.
“Today we’ve checked the combat readiness of a tank battalion, a motorized rifle battalion, and rocket weapons,” said Aleksandr Neverovsky, Deputy State Secretary of the Security Council of Belarus. “On the whole, the morale of our military personnel is decent. Both officers and enlisted personnel. That is worth a lot. The Armed Forces, in particular this brigade, are ready to carry out their assigned tasks.”
Today the focus is on the personnel’s gear and the readiness of the military equipment. “We can see that the soldiers have warm clothes among other things. They are ready to march and go into the field in the current conditions. The equipment has also been serviced and is ready to perform the assigned tasks,” said Aleksandr Neverovsky.

“All of the brigade’s equipment is 100% operational. And, as a readiness muster showed, the equipment is ready to perform its tasks anywhere in our Republic of Belarus,” said Vadim Ilnitsky, commanding officer of the 11th Independent Guards Mechanized Brigade. “The brigade has a number of modernized vehicles as well as a number of modernized weapons and armaments that we use, including in the course of carrying out the tasks assigned to us by our commander-in-chief.”

According to Vadim Ilnitsky’s assessment, the units involved in the inspection are ready to carry out their assigned tasks.
Aleksandr Neverovsky emphasized that, according to the instruction of the head of state, small-scale exercises involving simulated sabotage and reconnaissance groups and a test of the physical endurance of military personnel are still ahead. After that, the results will be summarized.

BelTA reported earlier that the large-scale inspection of the Armed Forces authorized by the head of state began on 16 January. The commander-in-chief personally monitors its progress. A new system has been worked out to enable the president to place military units on combat alert without involving the Defense Ministry and the General Staff. The primary goal of this inspection is to see an objective picture. This is why the events are sudden.
