MINSK, 31 August (BelTA) - On the instructions of the president, Chairman of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus Igor Sergeyenko has arrived on a visit to the Socialist Republic of Vietnam to participate in the solemn events on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and Independence Day, BelTA has learned.
During the visit, Igor Sergeyenko is set to hold meetings with General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam To Lam, President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam Luong Cuong, and Chairman of the National Assembly of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam Tran Thanh Man.
The Belarusian delegation includes representatives of BelAZ (the managing company of BELAZ-HOLDING), Belshina, and MTZ.
The economic program of the visit will feature a meeting with the leadership of Lao Cai province, the participation in ceremonies for the handover of a batch of BelAZ haul trucks and the signing of bilateral documents on supplies of Belarusian and Vietnamese products. A licensing agreement on the establishment of a joint tractor assembly production facility in Vietnam will be signed in Ho Chi Minh City.
Vietnam will mark the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and Independence Day on 2 September with a military parade and a theatrical procession in Ba Dinh Square in Hanoi, where President Ho Chi Minh proclaimed the country's independence in 1945.
