Russia’s State Duma ratifies agreement with Belarus to change credit repayment terms

MOSCOW, 27 January (BelTA) – The Russian State Duma has approved a draft federal law “On the ratification of the agreement between the government of the Russian Federation and the government of the Republic of Belarus on amending the conditions of certain Russia-Belarus intergovernmental agreements”, BelTA has learned.

The bill was submitted to the State Duma by the Russian government on 15 January. It states that the State Duma “has ratified the agreement signed in Minsk on 27 June 2025 and in Moscow on 30 June 2025”.

As it was noted during the State Duma session, the provisions of the agreement are confidential. At the same time, Russian Deputy Finance Minister Vladimir Kolychev explained that the document concerns credit cooperation. According to him, the agreement provides for the rescheduling of payments by Belarus on Russian state loans.
