Registered paid email service launched in Belarus

MINSK, 4 January (BelTA) – A national registered email service was launched in Belarus on 3 January 2021, the press service of the Belarusian Communications and Informatization Ministry told BelTA.

According to the source, the system allows sending regular email letters and registered email letters. The system offers a secure and confidential means of correspondence. Letters can be sent and received at any time using mobile phones or computers.

To start using the system, users have to create an email address and pass an authentication procedure using a digital signature.

Notifications about received emails will be sent to the phone number or the email address the user entered in the course of the registration procedure.

The system can be used to send all kinds of documents. The text cannot exceed 30 pages. Up to three files as large as 10MB can be attached to one letter. The accepted file formats are doc, docx, xls, xlsx, pdf.

A regular email letter costs Br0.42. A registered email letter costs Br1.5.

If the recipient is not registered with the system, the email will be printed out and sent to the recipient by conventional mail.
