Prospects of expanding Belarus' participation in UN Interim Force mission discussed in Lebanon

MINSK, 23 May (BelTA) – Prospects of advancing bilateral military cooperation were discussed as a Belarusian military delegation visited Lebanon and Syria, BelTA learned from the Belarusian Defense Ministry website.

The delegation was led by Chief of the International Military Cooperation Department of the Belarusian Defense Ministry, Aide for International Military Cooperation to the Defense Minister Oleg Voinov. The visit took place on 21-23 May.

Oleg Voinov inspected the work of the Belarusian army specialists, who serve as part of the UN Interim Force mission in Lebanon. Matters of everyday work of the Belarusian military specialists and prospects of expanding Belarus' participation in the mission were discussed with the mission's leadership. The mission's leadership mentioned the high professional skills and training levels of the Belarusian military.

Apart from that, the Belarusian delegation met with top officers of the armed forces of Lebanon and Syria. Matters of the state and prospects of advancing bilateral military cooperation were discussed.
