PM: Technology showcased at TIBO contributes to Belarus’ image as IT country

MINSK, 5 June (BelTA) - The technology showcased at TIBO contributes to Belarus’ image as an IT-country, Belarusian Prime Minister Roman Golovchenko said at the opening ceremony of the international ICT forum TIBO 2024 on 5 June, BelTA has learned.

Much has changed over the 30 years of the forum, the prime minister said. “Initially it was oriented at industry professionals - communicators, engineers, programmers. The presented projects solved issues of improving technologies, first of all, fixed communication, development of basic information resources, automation of personnel and accounting, document management, archival storage. This means they met the urgent needs in accordance with the realities of those days. Since then, the ICT sector has gone far ahead in its development both in Belarus and worldwide. The forum has also been changing, acquiring more and more participants and stimulating public interest in technological progress,” Roman Golovchenko said.

According to him, the event reflects a wide range of current trends in the implementation of information technologies in public administration, economy, social welfare, attracting not only professionals in this industry, but also representatives of government agencies, business community, educational organizations and a wide range of end users, which to a greater or lesser extent are all citizens of the country. “The solutions that are demonstrated at the forum contribute to Belarus’ image as an IT country,” the prime minister said.

The TIBO forum is a unique platform for sharing best practices in information technologies, analyzing the best global practices of digital transformation and discussing the prospects for effective use of the latest technological trends in traditional sectors of the economy. The four-day event will feature the latest technologies of state-run organizations and private companies at Minsk Arena. Taking part in the forum are public administration bodies, international organizations and diplomatic missions, professional and business associations, research and educational institutions, public and private companies. Foreign official delegations will also take an active part in the forum.








Minsk Arena will host the Digital Economy Forum, the Eurasian Digital Forum, the Belarusian ICT Summit, the Era of Artificial Intelligence discussion, the Festival of Digital Technologies, and the youth forum We are the Future of Digital Belarus. The program will also include the TIBO Internet Award and TIBO Internet Marketing awards ceremonies, and also the International Scratch Olympiad on creative programming among schoolchildren.
