MINSK, 22 March (BelTA) – A roadmap to guide the integration of national digital healthcare systems is being developed in the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), the press service of the CIS Executive Committee told BelTA.
Common approaches and formats of electronic interaction will be worked out as part of the project. Unified regulatory and reference acts will be introduced to become the foundation for building common information space in the sphere of healthcare. The introduction of digital technologies in healthcare on the basis of integrated digital infrastructure is a priority direction of cooperation in accordance with the CIS future development concept.
In line with the action plan on implementing the concept the CIS Council for Cooperation in Healthcare will have to consider the creation of compatible telemedicine systems, improve the organizational base and the legal base for using information and communications technologies in healthcare in the Commonwealth of Independent States. The CIS Council for Cooperation in Healthcare will also have to improve SMART healthcare technologies and introduce mobile apps in healthcare. The council will also have to set up platforms for sharing the best practices for introducing digital technologies in healthcare at the national level between CIS member states. The CIS Council for Cooperation in Healthcare will also have to consider the advisability of working out common approaches to sharing data about health and healthcare between the CIS member states. The council will have to develop information systems for the remote monitoring of patients with chronic non-infectious diseases.
In order to accomplish these goals, the CIS Council for Cooperation in Healthcare has analyzed the state of affairs regarding the introduction of information and communications technologies in the relevant ministries of the CIS states. The council has also set up a working group on the integration of the national digital healthcare systems. The group is led by Belarusian First Deputy Healthcare Minister Yelena Bogdan.
The first session of the working group took place using videoconference technologies. Representatives of Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, the Interparliamentary Assembly of the Commonwealth of Independent States, and the CIS Executive Committee took part in the session. Members of the working group shared the experience of creation and development of digital healthcare in their own countries. They discussed the main directions of future interaction. Representatives of the Interparliamentary Assembly of the Commonwealth of Independent States informed participants of the session about work on the draft model law on digital healthcare.
The next session of the working group will take place in June 2021 and will be dedicated to the compilation and use of regulatory and reference information in healthcare.
