Lukashenko attends Victory Day parade in Moscow

MOSCOW, 9 May (BelTA) – Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko went to see a parade held in Red Square in Moscow in honor of the 79th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War, BelTA has learned.

The leaders of Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Cuba, Laos, and Guinea-Bissau are also among the distinguished guests in the stands. President of Russia Vladimir Putin is expected to make a speech.

Over 9,000 people and over 70 units of military hardware will take part in the Red Square parade. Aviation units will also participate in it.

After the parade the leaders of the countries are expected to lay wreaths at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in Alexander Gardens outside Kremlin walls.

Aleksandr Lukashenko came to Moscow on a working visit the day before. The president took part in a jubilee summit of the Eurasian Economic Union in the Kremlin on 8 May.
