LEPEL DISTRICT, 30 January (BelTA) - State Secretary of the Belarusian Security Council Aleksandr Volfovich visited the UAV unit of the 19th Separate Mechanized Brigade, which underwent a snap inspection ordered by the president, BelTA has learned.
“The unmanned aerial vehicle unit and the operator training classroom were established last year. The classroom is equipped in accordance with all requirements for UAV operator training, taking into account the experience of the special military operation. The drone unit has participated in all major exercises, such as the joint strategic exercise of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Belarus and the Russian Federation Zapad 2025 and also passed the snap inspection. UAV operators carried out fire adjustment for AGS-17 grenade launchers,” noted Maksim Konstantinov, Deputy Commander of the 19th Separate Mechanized Brigade.
He also shared details on how military personnel are selected for this unit. “Soldiers are sent for training at specialized centers both within the Armed Forces and in other organizations across our country. The training lasts for 1 to 2 months. After completing it, they arrive here to be evaluated by a selection board. The most qualified and well-prepared individuals remain to serve in this unit,” Maksim Konstantinov added.
