Gomel Eparchy donates medical equipment to Gomel hospitals

GOMEL, 6 January (BelTA) – The Gomel Eparchy has donated medical equipment to healthcare facilities of Gomel, BelTA learned from the website of the Gomel Eparchy.

“The Gomel Eparchy and Gomel's healthcare facilities have a long history of cooperation. It has become a good tradition to visit healthcare facilities of the city ahead of Christmas. The pandemic has altered our plans, but still it did not prevent us from running this Christmas campaign,” the eparchy noted.

On 5 January, the Gomel Eparchy office hosted representatives of Gomel's central children's polyclinic, regional maternity hospital, regional children's hospital, and regional children's hospital for medical rehabilitation. Archbishop Stefan of Gomel and Zhlobin handed over equipment for cardiology wards and rehabilitation wards to the healthcare facilities.

The Gomel Eparchy awarded dozens of healthcare workers from all over Gomel Oblast the medals of St. Manefa of Gomel and the Righteous St. John of Korma.

“Time has shown that we should unite and stand together to rise to the challenges presented by the pandemic. We bow our heads in gratitude to our healthcare workers for their hard work. Ahead of Christmas, I would like to wish everyone health, peace, and prosperity,” Archbishop Stefan said.

In addition, the eparchy will also give hygiene kits for newborn babies and their mothers as Christmas presents.
