Expert: War came as no surprise to Iran

MINSK, 19 March (BelTA) - War came as no surprise to Iran; it had been preparing for it, national security expert Aleksandr Tishchenko said in a new episode of the V Teme [On Point] project on BelTA’s YouTube channel.
“Iran’s nuclear program and production facilities were developed with a potential war in mind, which came as no surprise to them. They prepared for it from both a military and a production standpoint. Iran has fragmented its production capabilities, making it impossible to suppress them with a single strike,” said Aleksandr Tishchenko. “These production facilities are buried deep within rock and concrete. The Iranians prepared for strikes and took these threats into account.”

The expert believes that Israel could deplete its stockpile of missiles and drones faster than Iran. The United States has significant strike capabilities, but this conflict has proven to be very costly for them.

“Many questions arise regarding the cost. If you compare the cost of Iran’s strikes with the cost of the retaliatory strikes by Israel and the USA, the ratio is 1 to 70. This indicates that the war is expensive for the USA but, in principle, bearable for Iran,” Aleksandr Tishchenko believes. “Iran is ready to withstand this situation for at least two years.”

He also drew attention to the fact that the production process for new munitions in the United States takes a considerable amount of time: “Everyone acknowledges that missiles like the Tomahawks are being expended faster than they can be produced.”
