Ex-Ukrainian PM: Ukraine has no political forces committed to peace

MINSK, 29 March (BelTA) - There is not a single political force in Ukraine that is oriented toward peace, former Prime Minister of Ukraine (2010-2014) Nikolai Azarov said in the latest episode of the V Teme [On Point] project on BelTA's YouTube channel.
“There is not a single political force that is oriented toward peace. In the Verkhovna Rada, there are no speeches by politicians calling for the conclusion of peace. What is there even to talk about? This is a Nazi regime that is fully funded and directed by the West. No one thinks about their country or their population,” Nikolai Azarov said.

According to him, modern Ukraine has turned into a concentration camp from which people try to flee even at the risk of their own lives. “They continue to bury 30,000 men a year in the ground, and they are planning some wild conscription numbers,” Nikolai Azarov said. “[Ukrainian Minister of Defense Mikhail] Fedorov counted 2 million ‘draft dodgers’, those who are evading their military obligations. But what kind of military obligations can there be? Who are they supposed to defend? A country that has been sold and resold?”

The former prime minister added that Ukraine’s mineral resources have been placed at the disposal of the United States under an agreement with U.S. President Donald Trump. In addition, Vladimir Zelensky has promised the very same resources to the UK under the so-called 100-year cooperation agreement. “The same thing has been sold. And not even sold - handed over, because not a single penny has been received for it yet,” stressed Nikolai Azarov.
