MINSK, 31 December (BelTA) - The work tempo of the head of state in 2026 will be no less intense than in the outgoing year of 2025, Press Secretary of the Belarusian president Natalya Eismont told the Belarus 1 TV channel, BelTA has learned.
“Speaking about the upcoming year in general, you know, working alongside the president almost every day, listening to the president almost every day, I don’t want to sound dramatic, of course, but I am absolutely certain that we all need to prepare ourselves for 2026. Prepare to work even better, prepare to push ourselves even harder. Prepare to raise our own bar, even if just a little, but work more intensively, work with even greater dedication. I am sure that this is what the president expects from each and every one of us,” said Natalya Eismont.
Continuing on the topic, the press secretary of the Belarusian head of state shared a behind-the-scenes conversation that took place during the president’s visit to Horizont Holding Company. She said that, upon leaving the enterprise, Aleksandr Lukashenko reminded the director of the company of the need to “run and hurry up”. The head of state gives the same guidance to the government.
“They had a conversation, at the end of which the president said: ‘I told the prime minister the other day, and I want to tell you, the head of such a team, of an enterprise that is crucial for us, that we are setting everyone to run, to hurry up. If we don’t run, we will be caught up, overtaken, trampled, and so on.’ But the leader must be the first to set the pace. The leader must lead from the front, and the people must see that. And then the president said very calmly and kindly: ‘By personal example.’ I am absolutely sure that the president is determined to run, that the pace will be the same. And we will meet again in a year and announce new figures [on the number of events and trips made by the head of state], and they will be even more impressive than the current ones,” said Natalya Eismont.
In 2025, the press secretary of the Belarusian leader said, Aleksandr Lukashenko held about 50 regional events. The president had around 15 foreign trips. And hundreds of events of various formats took place at the Palace of Independence. This refers only to events that were public.
