MOSCOW, 20 December (BelTA) – Director General of the State Tretyakov Gallery Zelfira Tregulova has been awarded the Order of Francysk Skaryna. The award ceremony took place in the Belarusian Embassy in Russia, BelTA learned from the embassy.
In accordance with the decree of the Belarus president, Zelfira Tregulova was awarded this high award in recorgnition of her great achievements in promoting the Belarusian-Russian cultural ties.
Presenting the Order, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Russia Vladimir Semashko said that Zelfira Tregulova, as the head of the Tretyakov Gallery, initiated a series of joint cultural projects with Belarus. “This is a mutual penetration of art, as the history of the peoples of Belarus and Russia has been intertwined for centuries. We have learned a lot from each other,” he said.
For her part, Director of the Tretyakov Gallery Zelfira Tregulova stressed that Belarus took an active part in every big exhibition held in the gallery over the past years.
According to the embassy, the Tretyakov Gallery has been actively cooperating with the art museums of Belarus, implementing joint projects. For example, in 2015 the National Art Museum of Belarus hosted the exhibition “From Realism to Impressionism ...”, which featured about 60 paintings from the State Tretyakov Gallery, representing Russian painting of the second half of the 19th century - early 20th century. Another joint project between the National Art Museum of Belarus and the State Tretyakov Gallery was implemented in October-November 2018. The exhibition entitled The Vitold Byalynitsky-Birulya Circle was held in Mogilev. The exposition featured more than 20 works by one of the best landscape painters of the first half of the 20th century Vitold Bialynitsky-Birulya, and artists he knew and worked with. In particular, visitors could enjoy one of the most famous works of Isaak Levitan's Over the Eternal Peace. Vitold Byalynitsky-Birulya'a painting From the Pyatigorsk Neighborhood was brought from the State Tretyakov Gallery. In 1892, the painting was purchased by Pavel Tretyakov.
