Constitutional referendum: Voter turnout at 46.33% as of 10.00

MINSK, 27 February (BelTA) – As of 10.00 the voter turnout at the referendum was 46.33%, Chairman of the Belarusian Central Election Commission Igor Karpenko told the media, BelTA has learned.

"We can say that the referendum can already be recognized as valid in two regions. These are Gomel Oblast with 52.87% voter turnout and Mogilev Oblast – 50.03%. Vitebsk Oblast goes third with the voter turnout at 47.68%. The turnout was 46.71%,in Brest Oblast, 45.44% in Grodno Oblast, 46.20% in Minsk Oblast, and 37.96% in the city of Minsk," Igor Karpenko said.

The head of the CEC stressed that about 45,000 national observers are working at the polling stations. All polling stations are operating normally. "We can say that the main turnout is expected a little later. This is the data as of 10.00," Igor Karpenko added.
