MINSK, 16 May (BelTA) – A press conference dedicated to the 3rd edition of the nationwide contest of professional excellence WorldSkills Belarus 2018 will take place in BelTA's press center on 17 May at 12.00.
Taking part in the press conference will be First Deputy Education Minister Vadim Bogush, Rector of the National Institute of Vocational Education Valery Golubovsky, and WorldSkills Belarus chief experts.
The 3rd edition of the nationwide contest of professional excellence WorldSkills Belarus 2018 will be held in Minsk on 22-23 May. The competition will be organized in accordance with the standards of the WorldSkills International movement. Over 300 students and young workers from all over the country will compete in 37 skills.
One of the tasks of the WorldSkills movement is to raise standards of vocational education and training, which is of great importance to Belarus. The national contest is expected to demonstrate resources and capacities of the education system and its partners – industrial enterprises - to train highly-skilled employees for the innovative economy. The winners of the national contest will take part in the world championship WorldSkills Kazan 2019.
Participants of the press conference will tell the audience about the national contest, ways to improve the quality of vocational training, participation of Belarusian companies in the preparation of the national team for the WorldSkills international competition, the staffing program for the innovative economy, promotion of WorldSkills and JuniorSkills in 2018-2021 and cooperation prospects in the format of macro-regional association Worldskills Eurasia.
