MINSK, 15 October (BelTA) — Belarusian Prime Minister Roman Golovchenko conveyed his best wishes to the students and alumni of the Moscow State Institute of International Relations (MGIMO University) in an interview with the Rossiya 1 TV channel which was aired on 14 October, BelTA has learned.
"From my own experience, I would like to wish you to never give up in the face of difficulties, set ambitious goals and keep your eyes on the goals. And then you will definitely achieve success. Certainly, I wish you to become true professionals in your area of expertise, study everything in depth, work hard and get to the root of everything. Everything that is happening in the world, in politics, diplomacy, is cyclical. History is cyclical," Roman Golovchenko said.
He pointed out that people become chess grand masters because they are able to keep in mind thousands of games played before them. "For someone who wants to become a prominent political figure, a diplomat, it is very important to know and deeply understand what happened before you. Things repeat themselves in one way or another. It is very important for students, who are learning the wisdom of international relations, to know the lessons of history, politics, and diplomacy," the prime minister emphasized.
The Belarusian head of government is an MGIMO graduate. The university celebrated its 80th anniversary on 14 October.
