MINSK, 18 March (BelTA) – Belarusian athletes returned home from the XIV Winter Paralympic Games in Italy on 17 March, BelTA has learned.
The Belarusian delegation consisted of 12 members: athletes, coaches, medical staff, and officials. Competing on the track in Tesero were Lidziya Loban, Valiantsina Biryla, Darya Fedzkovich, and Raman Svirydzenka, who won gold in the sprint and silver in the 10 km individual race.


Raman Svirydzenka’s teammates finished in the top ten, with the Belarusian quartet coming in ninth place in the mixed relay. The Belarusian team earned two medals and finished 17th overall in the medal standings, among 55 participating countries.
Family members, representatives of the Sports Ministry, the Paralympic Committee of Belarus, the National Center for Paralympic and Deaflympic Sports, as well as members of the Belarusian Ski Union and the Belarusian State University of Physical Culture gathered at Minsk National Airport to welcome the athletes. Labor and Social Protection Minister Andrei Lobovich delivered a message of congratulations from the Belarusian president.

In early 2026, Belarusian winter para-athletes returned to the global arena after a four-year hiatus. The Paralympics in Italy also became the first Games since the Tokyo Summer Paralympics at which Belarusian athletes competed under the national flag.
