MINSK, 6 January (BelTA) – The 56th edition of the Star Expedition campaign around the places of military glory and labor excellence in Belarus will take place on 27-29 January. The campaign has been held by Maksim Tank Belarusian State Pedagogical University (BSPU) since 1966 with an aim of promoting patriotism among the youth, BelTA learned from the BSPU press service.

“Eight groups (more than 250 students and teachers) will visit Dzerzhinsk District, Krupki District, Luban District, Slutsk District, Soligorsk District, and Cherven District of Minsk Oblast, Lida District and Novogrudok District of Grodno Oblast,” the press service said.

During the campaign, the BSPU students and teachers will hold rallies, lay flowers to the graves of soldiers and civilians who died during the Great Patriotic War, stage concerts in local educational institutions, meet with high school students, and organize master classes and sports competitions. Apart from students from Belarus, the Star Expedition will bring together the BSPU students from China, Russia, and Turkmenistan.

The 56th edition of the Star Expedition will kick off with a rally by the monument to students and teachers who died during the Great Patriotic War (in the BSPU inner courtyard) on 26 January.
