MINSK, 30 January (BelTA) – Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Serbia to the Republic of Belarus Ilina Vukajlović and Professor Sasa Borovic, head of the Heart Failure Center at the Dedinje Cardiovascular Institute (Belgrade, Serbia), visited the National Scientific and Practical Center of Cardiology in Minsk. The parties signed a memorandum of cooperation, BelTA has learned.
The Serbian representatives discussed with Director of the Center, Professor Andrei Prystrom and Deputy Director for Surgery, Professor Sergei Spiridonov prospects for further cooperation in transplantation. Ambassador Ilina Vukajlović also met with a Serbian citizen who had successfully undergone a heart transplant at the center.
In addition, a master class was held on performing 3D-modeled myoseptectomy for patients with hypertrophic obstructive cardiomyopathy. Artyom Nevyglas, surgeon of cardiac surgery department No. 3, presented the capabilities of this unique technique developed at the Belarusian center. The presentation was broadcast online to Belgrade for cardiac surgeons at Dedinje. Foreign colleagues were introduced to the details of the diagnostic process, including ultrasound, CT scanning, and the construction of three-dimensional models for preoperative planning. Two demonstration surgeries were also performed, showcasing the high effectiveness of the method.
The guests praised the expertise of specialists at the Belarusian center and expressed confidence in the broad prospects for further mutually beneficial cooperation.
