MINSK, 2 April (BelTA) - Belarus and Russia are planning new projects in the space sector, Chairman of the Presidium of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus Vladimir Karanik told the media before a gala concert and event marking the Day of Unity of the Peoples of Belarus and Russia at the Palace of the Republic on 2 April, BelTA has learned.
Belarus and Russia cooperate very closely and actively in the scientific sector. “Over 30 years, much has been done to create a common scientific, technological, and innovation space. The number of projects runs into the hundreds,” said Vladimir Karanik.
Three programs are currently planned for implementation within the Union State. “These involve dozens of initiatives. This includes continued work on space-related topics, biotechnology, and microelectronics - areas that are perhaps most in demand in our countries,” he said.
