Belarus’ MP: Current legislation is fully equipped to handle hybrid threats

MINSK, 1 April (BelTA) - Anatoly Bulavko, a member of the House of Representatives’ Standing Commission on National Security, addressed the adequacy of current legislation in responding to hybrid threats in the recent episode of BelTA’s Nation Speaks project.

Belarus has officially aligned all documents with its new Military Doctrine. Anatoly Bulavko stated that the current legislation is entirely capable of meeting hybrid threat challenges. “It provides the entire security sector with the conditions to ensure our state’s security at the highest level, offering not only a set of responsibilities but also a wide range of powers in this area. So in this regard, there are no gaps,” he said.

The MP emphasized that if the situation evolves, the parliamentary body remains ready to convene swiftly and adopt the necessary amendments and decisions to maintain alignment with current realities. “We are focused on acting clearly, quickly, and efficiently, ensuring that the legislation we adopt balances the interests of society, individuals, and the state as a whole,” he added.

Anatoly Bulavko affirmed that this approach is working today. “This can partly explain our state’s successes on both the domestic and foreign policy fronts.”
