MINSK, 22 January (BelTA) – The Association of Young Diplomats of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the National Centre for Marketing and Price Study have launched an essay competition "I Want to Become a Diplomat," BelTA has learned.

The contest is running from 22 January to 4 March and is dedicated to the 105th anniversary of the Belarusian diplomatic service.

"If you are under 27, you study at a Belarusian university and have the Belarusian citizenship, are interested in international relations, foreign policy and economics, know that ‘agrément’ is not a cooking term, and ‘alternat’ is not a spell to summon demons, you are strongly encouraged to take part in our contest," the organizers wrote.

The previous years' winners have undertaken internships at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (some more than once), participated in a workshop for young diplomats, as well as in a number of other international events, the ministry noted.
