Belarus hosts online conference to discuss protection of population from emergencies

MINSK, 9 September (BelTA) - The international conference “Protection from Emergencies: Innovations and Prospects of Additional Adult Education”, dedicated to the 25th anniversary of the Institute of Further Training of the University of Civil Protection of the Emergencies Ministry, took place in Borisov District, BelTA has learned.

“Representatives from Azerbaijan, the Czech Republic, Russia, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and Georgia - more than 60 participants - took part in the online meeting. The conference comprised three sections, where scientists presented their scientific developments in terms of educational technologies of training specialists in protection from emergencies, protection of the population and territories from emergencies and the development of technical means, equipment and tools for carrying out emergency rescue work,” the university said.

The conference also focused on topical issues of radiation safety and environmental aspects of emergencies, social and ideological aspects of life safety, and issues of theory and practice of professional communication.

A representative of the Technical Secretariat of the OPCW made a report on the implementation of Article X of the Chemical Weapons Convention during the conference. “The variety of topics of the reports presented during the conference covers a wide range of issues. Their discussion helps reach mutual understanding and develop rational proposals aimed at improving the level of training of specialists, developing technical means, equipment and tools for carrying out emergency rescue work,” the university said.
