MINSK, 21 May (BelTA) - Belarusian agricultural workers have planted millet on 58.9% of the target area, BelTA learned from the Belarusian Agriculture and Food Ministry.
Spring crops were planted on the area of 2,097,100 hectares, which is 88.6% of the plan. Buckwheat was planted on 19,800 hectares (57%), millet – on 5,840 hectares (58.9%). Spring rapeseed was planted on an area of 48,400 hectares, which is 78.6% of the target.
Maize was planted on 1,050,800 hectares (85.8%), including maize for silage (80.7%), potatoes on 15,600 hectares (93.3%), vegetables on 4,220 hectares (84.1%). The planting of flax, sugar beet, and early crops has been completed.
Annual grasses were planted on 175,600 hectares, which is 71.9% of the plan. First grass was cut on the area of 223,900 hectares, which is 15.9% of the plan.
