MOSCOW, 23 January (BelTA) - Kursk Oblast looks forward to the participation of Belarus in the reconstruction of the region, Alexander Khinshtein Acting Governor of Russia’s Kursk Oblast, told the media after a meeting with Belarusian Ambassador to Russia Aleksandr Rogozhnik in Moscow on 23 January, BelTA correspondent reports.
“The region will have to do a lot of reconstruction work. The task set by our president is to restore the infrastructure destroyed by the enemy. There is a large amount of housing to be built. We are discussing, among other things, the opportunities to expand the work of Belarusian enterprises in Kursk Oblast. These works are already in place, and today companies from Belarus are engaged in housing construction in the region,” Alexander Khinshtein said.
“We discussed how we can strengthen our interaction, because today we see great cooperation and trade between Kursk Oblast and Belarusian enterprises. There are various joint projects. Belarus is not only an allied countries, a member of the Union State. It is geographically close to our region. This short distance opens a big window of opportunity for us,” Aleksandr Rogozhnik is convinced.
During the meeting, Alexander Khinshtein stated that Kursk Oblast is going through difficult times now. “Our fraternal relations, our ties, of course, are the key to success and more intensive development,” he emphasized.
Speaking about the presidential election in Belarus, Alexander Khinshtein said: “I have no doubt that the Belarusian people will make the right choice, which will allow us to further strengthen and develop our fraternal centuries-old ties.”
