Lukashenko urges vigilance in anticipation of destabilization attempts

MINSK, 21 February (BelTA) – Attempts will be made to stir up the country and put pressure on it. This is why it is necessary to be vigilant. Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko made the statement during a solemn ceremony held on 21 February to present state awards and hand over the banner of the Belarusian prosecution service to prosecution service personnel, BelTA has learned.

The president noted it was the right decision to also invite veterans of the prosecution service to attend the event. “Our veterans are wise with experience. I want you to pass on all the experience to the youngsters while you are alive, in good health, and work. Without you they will be unable to accomplish the tasks we face. And you will still drink from the bitter cup in this life,” he said.

Aleksandr Lukashenko said: “You see what is happening around us. Attempts will be made to blow us up from the inside. I, the prosecutor general, or you do not fully know and cannot know how it will be done. But we should be ready for it. It is the most difficult thing when you know that you will face pressure and destabilization but you don't know when and how it will happen. This is why it is necessary to be vigilant.”

He also addressed executive personnel from the regions. “I want you to be as ready as the Prosecutor General's Office to protect peace in our country,” the head of state said.
