MINSK, 3 February (BelTA) – There are ways of improving the state of affairs in troubled agricultural enterprises. Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko made the relevant statement during a government conference held to discuss a number of matters concerning the social and economic development of Vitebsk Oblast, BelTA has learned.

As he was recounting complaints about human resources from some executives, Aleksandr Lukashenko said: “There are not enough people. The people are bad. They are drunkards. Yes, they drink alcohol. But what happens if you don’t pay them wages? They buy sugar from pensioners, make moonshine, and get drunk. Where is the head of the agricultural enterprise? I have told you many times that I have had the experience of working in such an enterprise. And in order for those bad people to follow you, you should be at the forefront. And you should do what every person is supposed to do. If you don’t do it, there will be no results.”

“It is up to you [the oblast administration] how to organize everything over there,” the president stressed.
