Lukashenko off to Uzbekistan on official visit

MINSK, 7 February (BelTA) – Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko has gone on an official visit to Uzbekistan, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian leader.

In Tashkent the Belarusian head of state will hold negotiations with President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev. The two leaders will have a one-on-one meeting and an expanded meeting where they will be joined by their delegations. The presidents will thrash out plans to deepen interstate relations and to intensify trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian contacts.

The two heads of state will focus on cooperation in various industries, as well as agriculture, science, education and tourism.

Aleksandr Lukashenko and Shavkat Mirziyoyev will also discuss the regional and global agenda, Belarus-Uzbekistan interaction in integration organizations and in the international arena.

A number of bilateral documents are to be signed, including an action plan to promote cooperation for 2024-2025.
