
MINSK, 18 July (BelTA) – At the conference call on 18 July Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko said that he hopes that Minsk Oblast will perform no worse than Grodno Oblast during this harvest season, BelTA has learned.
Minsk Oblast Governor Aleksei Kushnarenko reported on the region’s readiness for the harvest season, the situation with forage procurement, human resources and harvest forecasts. The governor stressed that Minsk Oblast is ready for harvesting and has already embarked on it.
“As of today, we have harvested winter barley on an area of 32,000 hectares, threshed 148,000 tonnes, the yield is so far 45.6 c/ha. The area under winter rapeseed is 90,000 hectares,” said Aleksei Kushnarenko.
There are 1,523 combines in Minsk Oblast; 99.9% of them are ready for harvesting; 1,775 motor vehicles will also be involved.
“As for the grain drying complex, all 419 dryers are ready to receive grain; 30 repair units have been set up to repair the equipment,” the governor noted.
During the peak of the harvest season, 6,844 machine operators will be in the fields, some of them will sow winter crops.
Meanwhile, forage is being harvested in the region. 10.5 feed units are allocated per conventional head (up by 1 unit over 2024 and down by 3 units over 2023).
“According to forecasts, we will have feed, about 34.6 feed units per conventional head will be provided for the year,” said Aleksei Kushnarenko.
