
MINSK, 9 May (BelTA) – Belarus and its partners should do everything to prevent a new world bloodbath. Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko made the statement in his speech at the army parade held in Minsk on 9 May on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the Soviet nation’s Victory in the Great Patriotic War, BelTA has learned.
Aleksandr Lukashenko said: “The parade will feature valiant military personnel – soldiers, officers, and generals of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Belarus, military personnel from Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, the People’s Republic of China, the Russian Federation, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan. We stood together back then. We stand together today. And we should do everything to prevent a new world bloodbath that can put an end to history.”
Addressing veterans of the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945, the head of state stressed that this parade has been organized to the glory of their heroic feat.
“A feat by the warriors, who liberated Belarus and now live in various corners of the planet. Your accomplishments and the Great Victory represent the values that we want our children and grandchildren to safeguard just like you do it. We bow low to you. We offer eternal remembrance to the heroes, who are no longer with us!” the Belarusian leader stated. “May the sky above our peace-loving, beloved, beautiful, and native Belarus always be peaceful!”
