MINSK, 3 March (BelTA) – Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko has approved the appointment of Anastasiya Kolosovskaya as Rector of the Belarusian State Academy of Arts, BelTA has learned.
Until now, Anastasiya Kolosovskaya has worked at the same university as vice-rector for academic affairs.
The head of state noted that when considering Anastasiya Kolosovskaya for the position of rector, he was struck by one detail of her background: her education, professional career, and research interests are all connected to architecture. “I was quite surprised when I came across your candidacy for the post. I thought, why haven’t we considered her before?” the president said. “An architect working in culture – I always welcome that. And at the same time, she understands how to work there, in this university, and has experience in this regard.”
“If you can get this academy in order, we won’t even need to look for specialists in some areas,” Aleksandr Lukashenko continued. “Every cloud has a silver lining. I think that in the future we can get a good result. Just make sure that you really run this team using your experience as vice-rector. You know, it’s a difficult one, they are all creators, like architects. Everyone understands, everyone knows everything. It’s [usually] the same in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and in culture. You just need to understand that life has a way of adjusting our plans, whether in art, creative work, or foreign affairs.”
